Brief Overview

Formerly a scribe for a dwarven temple of some kind, Xyl does not talk much about his past. Unusually for a dwarf, he keeps his beard shaved to nothing and his hair cropped close. Around his neck, he wears a bronze symbol of flame, which he holds forth and calls on when he wields the powers of his faith. Generally, he seems jovial and easy going, happily doing what he can to make ends meet, and he is trustworthy and loyal to those who are kind to him.

Favorite Vendor In Port Aggaba: Mendorwhin Verisnood

Mendorwhin is a scribe in Port Aggaba, working as a ledger-keeper and writer for several merchant groups. He does fairly well for himself, but he has taken a liking to a small number of different individuals in the port over time, taking on likely children as apprentices from poorer families and helping various people he thinks are good and capable but haven’t been given much of a chance. In Xyl, he seems to have found an able scribe who is already trained, and he tends to give him work when he has any extra come his way - simple things like copying ledgers and even sometimes more complicated work. Xyl sees through Mendorwhin’s claims of being over-worked and knows the jobs come as much from a need for help as a desire to help him, and appreciates the good will and income Mendorwhin has provided him.

That F&%king Guy in Port Aggaba: Hembry Donalson

Hembry Donalson runs a smithy called Child of Flames. He is a human, a broad and strong man well over 6 feet tall, balding, and around 40 years old. He is CONSTANTLY harassing Xyl to come and work in his shop - he goes from pleading to demanding to raging at him whenever he sees Xyl, apparently CONVINCED that Xyl being a dwarf means he is a natural metalworker. Xylandor has tried to explain that he is no good with a hammer - even going so far as to demonstrate that he could barely LIFT the smith’s larger hammers, but Hembry remains unrelenting. Xyl has taken to avoiding the entire district to avoid him, and will quickly leave taverns or marketplaces if he so much as glimpses Hembry in one.
